The owner of a beauty salon in the state of Florida has been charged with “sexual harassment” after he allegedly groped two women.
According to the Associated Press, police say 32-year-old Joe Echeverria allegedly gropes women while at the Beauty Salon on the corner of S. Miami Avenue and Palm Boulevard.
He’s accused of “further touching and groping a woman who was on her period and attempting to remove his pants,” according to a police report.
Echeverrio was charged with lewd and lascivious behavior and unlawful touching of a person under the age of 14.
He was released on his own recognizance and ordered to stay away from the salon until his next court date.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office declined to provide further details about the alleged incidents.
A woman who identified herself as one of the women who spoke to the AP said she met Echevria at a local bar and that he asked her for a lift to his apartment because she was pregnant.
She said she later went back to the salon, and Echevertria began to “talk to her in a way that made her uncomfortable.”
She said she told him to stop, but he persisted.
“I was like, ‘I’m sorry, but I can’t say that I’m sorry,’ ” she said.
She said he then “started to fondle her chest area” and she tried to get away from him. “
After she refused to move, she said Echevereira began to grab her shoulders, according to the report.
She said he then “started to fondle her chest area” and she tried to get away from him.
He then tried to pull her into the door of the salon and began to touch her legs and back.
