A video that has gone viral in India has raised fresh questions about the behaviour of some women in the country.
In the video, which was posted on YouTube on Friday, a woman is shown lying in a pool of blood on a beach with her hands over her eyes.
She is later seen asking her son, who has also been raped, why she is lying in the water.
“Why is she lying in that water?” she asks.
“I was raped,” he replies.
“I don’t want to go back there.”
The video has been shared more than 150,000 times and garnered widespread attention.
But it has also sparked anger, and criticism of the Indian authorities.
In a letter sent to the Prime Minister, senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh wrote: “The women in this video are asking for forgiveness, but you have been silent.
Your government has no problem with rapists and rapists are free to roam India, just as they roam the world.”
It is clear that the government is not committed to preventing rapes, nor is it committed to upholding the law.
If we cannot stop them, then what hope is there?
“He continued: “In India, the number of rape cases is higher than in the rest of the world, but the number is still low.
Because India has an incredibly backward mindset.
“The woman in the video has also asked her son why he did not protect her and not try to stop her.”
The woman then tells her son to go and ask the police.”
What do you want me to do?”
The woman then tells her son to go and ask the police.
The woman has also filed a police complaint, and is appealing to the authorities to punish the rapists.
